High Tide
High Tide is a South African startup dedicated to marine conservation through community-driven beach cleanups and educational outreach. This brief tasked us with creating a visual brand identity and digital marketing strategy to pitch High Tide to potential venture capital investors using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma.
High Tide’s business venture is to create a weekly communal beach cleanup session. At the start of their journeys, they must purchase a shirt that contains spaces where they can apply a badge for every tenth bag of litter they collect solely from their beach cleanup sessions. Participants earn a badge for every tenth bag of litter collected during weekly cleanups, with an R500 reward upon completing the full shirt collection.
Each badge includes a QR code linking to an article about a specific marine animal, educating participants on ocean wildlife and environmental issues. Participants can track their badge collection digitally on the High Tide website, allowing them to reflect on their impact. This badge program incentivises participation and fosters a sense of community and accomplishment, motivating participants to stay engaged in the conservation effort.
High Tide aims to raise brand awareness for marine conservations in South Africa by educating locals about the importance of the marine ecosystem and how they can protect it from harm. The organisation values education and firmly believes it is the first step to guiding individuals and helping them identify their morals and values.
In the future, High Tide envisions establishing a marine conservation lab where young people can volunteer and assist veterinarians in rehabilitating marine life. This hands-on experience aims to inspire a new generation of conservationists committed to protecting marine ecosystems.
