Top Up is a sustainable business venture cutting out single-use packaging in the cleaning and hygiene industry by focusing on easy-to-use refill solutions. While some brands offer “refill” packaging, it’s still single-use, which adds to the existing waste problem. Top Up came to life when we noticed how much waste piles up in towns, especially smaller ones with limited disposal options.
Created as part of our marketing faculty’s entrepreneurship module, Top Up tackles this issue head-on by bringing in a self-service refill system for everyday cleaning and hygiene products. We’re aiming to partner with big brands like Unilever and Colgate-Palmolive, asking them to supply their products in bulk, without single-use packaging. Instead, products will be available in large tubes with taps so consumers can refill their own containers and avoid extra packaging.
Top Up’s goal is to create a shopping experience that’s sustainable, affordable, and flexible, giving people an easy way to make a difference. By offering popular products in a refillable format, Top Up is all about helping brands and consumers work together for a cleaner planet.
